...I fully support the decision of the Board of Secondary School Studies and its Science Advisory Committee to include the teaching of evolution as a component of the core syllabus for Senior Biology, and the decision not to include "Creation Science" as a compulsory component of Senior Biology, and the decision not to include "Creation Science" as a compulsory component of Senior biology. Indeed "Creation Science" as it is espoused by its supporters has no place in the syllabus of any science subject....

*On May 6, 1984, the Board of the Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland resolved to endorse their Dean's letter to the Minister for Education, supporting teaching evolution in the secondary schools. The above statement is excerpted from that letter, recorded as a resolution in the minutes of the Board meeting.
